Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Corolla customers will soon have a brand-new product: cement.
The cement tiles, made of cement, are expected to be available for sale in Toyota dealerships by the end of the year.
They were initially only available at Toyota dealers in Mexico and Canada, but now they will be available in the U.S. at all Toyota dealers beginning this year.
“These are a great way to add color to your home,” said Ken Rood, executive vice president and general manager of Toyota of North America.
“They add texture and give a nice contrast.”
The new cement tiles will be made from a mixture of cement that is mixed with cement powder and a mix of water, sand and water, a process that removes any moisture and gives the tiles a matte finish.
“When you’re looking for a way to enhance the look of your home, we really like to add something different to the look and feel of your place,” said Doug Murchison, president of The Home Depot.
“We think it’s a great product and a great example of Toyota using their resources to help grow the company and the brand.”
The cement tile has been a part of the home for decades, and it has been sold at many of Toyota’s U.s. dealerships.
Murchison said the company has seen a lot of interest from customers.
“People really like it,” he said.
“It’s one of the best-selling products in the world.
They love it.”
The company plans to begin selling the cement tiles in the second half of the fiscal year.
