The trailer for the first episode of “Hannah Madison” has a message of hope, especially for the young woman who was raped at the hands of her rapists.
“I don’t think this is about me, but I want to tell you, I’m still here,” Alyssah Milano, the former contestant of “The Voice” and a new member of the cast of “Hamilton,” says.
“That’s the reason why I’m standing here.
I know I’m not going to make it.
I want you to know that.
But you don’t have to be the first person in the world, so don’t feel bad.”
Milano is joined onstage by her husband, James Milano.
“There’s a story behind the story,” she says.
When she was 13, she was raped by a gang member and had to flee to New York, where she was adopted by a family of gang members.
She was a star on Broadway and the Academy Award-winning “Hamilton.”
Milana’s “Hail to the Thief” premiered at the 2016 New York Film Festival and was nominated for a Golden Globe.
She has been working with a group called the Project for the Protection of Adolescent Girls, which has been advocating for women’s rights for more than a decade.
It has also been advocating to improve educational outcomes for girls.
“Hannity” returns Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
ET on Fox.
